Kuumba Divine Jewelry

Kuumba means "Creativity", and as my featured artist, her Jewelry line is nothing short of it's name, "Kuumba Divine Jewelry"

Ever since I have known Kuumba she has been making jewelry. It must have started from the lack of eccentricity in the necklaces, earrings and bracelets that she refused to purchase during the 90's. There had to be something better out there, but there wasn't, and so it began. Being the inner hippie that she is, she always had the need to add her own creative Kuumba touch to the universe.  Years later in 2002 Kuumba Divine Jewelry was born. As the sole Founder/Owner/Designer, she has created from hand, fine jewelry that is so authentic that it can immediately be identified as a Kuumba Divine design when you see it.

Her fine jewelry line is clearly inspired by things that exist in nature, such as the wings of a butterfly, the bark of a tree or even the shape of an avocado. Additionally, the earthly metals and rare stones that she uses makes each piece reek of femininity and complex simplicity, so intricately woven that it summons the attention of the eye. I am consistently receiving complements whenever I am wearing her jewelry.

I recently attended a sample sale a her home and upon seeing her work realized just how far she had come. From making jewelry for herself and close friends, to being a featured artist for the Academy's and having many "A" list celebrities sporting her designs, I couldn't be more proud of her accomplishments. I know it is hard work getting those orders out, especially when she is still hand crafting everything from her studio and working tirelessly to fulfill the demand of retailers. That's what makes Kuumba Divine Jewelry so amazing!

Love my Angolian Hoops Kuumba! So simple yet sophisticated, I can wear them every day!

You can find Kuumba Divine Jewelry on facebook.
