When your body contains to much acid, you are considered to have acidosis. Basically what it means is that your kidneys and lungs can't keep your body's pH in balance.

The lower your pH the higher the acidity in your body. The higher your pH the lower you acidity.

There are numerous reasons that acidosis is more common in the American Diet.
Acid producing products like meat, egg, and dairy are abundant, while foods that are low alkaline like fresh fruits and veggies are not as accessible.
We consume so many food that produce acid, like white flour, sugar, coffee, and soda. take far too many drugs that form acid, and we use artificial sweeteners which form an exorbitant amount of acid in our systems.

How do you know if you're acidic?
You can test your pH levels at home by purchasing test
strips from your local health food store.
Be sure to test your first urine of the morning and after
dinner for at least one week.
You’re looking for average reading between 6.6 and 7.
You can also ask the Doctor to test your pH levels at you
next visit.
The test is the only true way to tell what you level of
acidity is.
